Opal

This scroll is based on the Hours of Engelbert of Nassau, which is attributed to the Master of the Hours of Mary of Burgundy (French, c. 1450). After the design and calligraphy had been completed, some changes to the scroll were required that necessitated scraping off some words, reinking, and moving the order badge from elsewhere on the scroll to the bottom of the page. Unfortunately, I think this detracts from the other elements of the design. Completed November 2007.
