Double AoA

This double-AoA commission is based on the work of Simon Bening, who was active in Bruges in the mid-sixteenth century. The left scroll is based on the March calendar page and the right is based on the June calendar page (c. 1540-1550, British Library Add. Ms. 18855). The placement of text within a frame on top of a scene painting was relatively common in Flemish manuscripts of this period. This pair of scrolls was finished in September 2007.
