Laurel Scroll

This laurel scroll, for the elevation of James de Biblesworth, was commissioned by Mistress Elspet. It is modeled after extent English Patents of Arms from the fifteenth century. Oak gall ink on vellum; the sparse painting was done with vine black and glair. Completed in November 2009. (A wax seal was added by Mistress Elspet after I finished the calligraphy and illumination.)
