Ketubah
This is a ketubah, a Jewish wedding contract (the English half), done on parchment using period pigments bound with glair. The gilding is 23.5K gold leaf over a PVA base. The design is based on a combination of late-period ketubah designs and Bohemian-style acanthus leaves; the blue ribbon is a "love knot" from the Wenceslas Bible. The decorative cut pattern on the top edge is found on many period ketubot.
