Sir Roussel's Scroll
This knighting scroll was completed in August 2007 for Sir Roussel Tavernier. The bulk of the design is based on the mid-15th-century French Roman de Tristan. The architectural frame for the miniature was adapted from another French source from roughly the same time period. Of course, the subjects of the miniature (Sir Roussel and Their Royal Majesties Arielle and Valharic) were painted from photographs. The physical proportions of the subjects were altered slightly for a more period feel: TRMs' heads are a bit larger than normal, and limbs are slightly elongated. I'm of mixed minds about how successful the alterations in proportions worked out.
